Outside of traditional school settings, Tanya joined Authentic Education collaborating closely with Dr. Grant Wiggins, co-author of Understanding by Design. She developed an adult curriculum & delivered an innovative professional development series focused on backward mapping for clear & measurable results.
She later served as Vice President of Program Design at Turnaround for Children. There she created industry-leading tools that translated research into practical practices & programs for school staff to address the impact of adversity on learning & development. Notably, she led creation of the design department, collaborated with the American Institute of Research, served as a member of the BELE Network (funded by the Raikes Foundation) & innovated the Whole Child toolkit.
The totality of her experiences have developed an interdisciplinary lens & honed a desire to work in myriad sectors & systems to affect change.
